FARMING

Farming at Rancho Colorado del Norte has always been a mainstay for over one hundred years and continues today. Six years ago, we focused on the production of grass as a feed source for our livestock and horses. An initial fifty acres was sprigged with ‘Coastal Grass” that has spread and become dense. In 2019, we were successful in having three cuts of hay from May to October. This has produced hundreds of six-foot round bales and made us self-sustaining.
